There is nothing comming out of the speakers.
Please check your iPod or music device volume. IronAmp uses a built-in amplifier which will go to full power, but your
device controls the volume.
The Amplifier is not getting power.
Please check that the positive (red) and negative (black) power cords are correctly connected to the battery. If you discover that the positive and negative wires were not connected correctly, you'll need to check the fuse located on the bottom side of the IronAmp. It may be blown and will need to be replaced (3 amp fuses).
Is the IronAmp Waterproof?
No, the IronAmp is not waterproof, however it is water resistant and should be covered when parked or when raining. Mount the IronAmp in a protected area behind the windshield. The IronAmp can get wet, but cannot not be submerged. Treat it like you would with your iPod or phone out in the rain.
How does it hook up to my Audio device?
Our system is complete with an adapter wire that plugs into the standard earphone jack that most all audio devices have.
I wired the IronAmp to my battery but the switch light is not on.
Check the 3 amp fuse on the positive wire and replace it if broken.
When I start up my bike, the fuse blows.
Obtain a slightly larger amp fuse (comes with a 3 amp fuse).
I have noise in the speakers from the engine.
When your bike is running and you hear static, you probably need a Noise Filter. Noise Filters can be purchased at most electronic stores and is simple to wire on your bike. This Filter greatly attenuates electrical noise or whine produced by some motorcycle electrical/ignition systems. Engine noise may occur on older bikes and normally not an issue on newer bikes.
I installed a noise filter but I still get a humming noise.
A humming is indicative of a bad ground connection. Make sure the ground wire is connected to the bike's negative battery terminal.
What should I use to clean the speakers?
You should use only a mild soap or plain water. Do not use chemicals or chrome cleaner on the speakers or you could damage the speaker. Use a wet rag and wipe down the face plate and grill carefully.
My speakers are popping or transmitting a signal.
The problem is with the stereo cable wire that comes from the IronAmp. Because it's unshielded, it can pick up any interference and transmit it. If it's near some type of voltage it will also pick it up and transmit it. To fix the problem, reroute the stereo cable away from the engine, ignition and any other sensors on the bike.
